Canal du Midi Trip Reviews
|
We booked a self-guided tour of the Canal du Midi in May 2005. Velo Loco
suggested a suitable itinerary, arranged all the accommodation, and provided bikes and panniers.
The tour and maps were superb, the accommodation was fantastic and excellent value, and the touring
bikes and panniers top-notch. Velo Loco had spoken to, and met all the guest house owners
we stayed with, and consequently we were made really welcome by them. Having the opportunity
to dine and get to know our hosts most evenings, was one of the highlights of the trip.
Cycling is a fantastic way to see the Canal du Midi, one of the most beautiful parts of France,
and we would unreservedly recommend Velo Loco's services to anyone looking at organising a trip. - Damian and Sarah, UK

We had a great time with VeloLoco during 2005, even though the weather was a
little wet. We found setting up the tour was extremely easy with a helpful and personal reply
to our many questions. We were very impressed with the way the trip was tailored to our demands
on distance and routes. The bikes were perfect for the conditions and very well maintained, we
only had a puncture in the last mile of our trip but veloloco supplied all the tools and kit we
needed to undertake roadside repairs. This included very detailed maps and route information. The hotels
were a good mixture of family owned hotels and atmospheric chateaux's, they were all most welcoming,
except one mad lady in the hills! We would highly recommend the helpful and friendly approach of
velo loco. Cheers, Gavin, UK

We really enjoyed the whole experience of cycling on the Canal,
particularly when we passed throug Toulouse and thereafter. We really
appreciated the organised way the trip was put together, but particularly
the places selected for the overnight stays. Pat and Helen Butler, Ireland
